Watch: Alex Pereira Shows Daniel Cormier How Filthy His Wrestling Has Become
Credit: Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

Alex Pereira might not have the wrestling resume of Daniel Cormier. But the reigning UFC champion is definitely improving in that area.

During a recent meeting at a media event, Pereira actually took “DC” down.

The hallway tussle between the two was caught on film in Brazil ahead of UFC 301. Cormier, a two-time Olympic wrestler and former UFC champion, is present to broadcast the card.

Pereira, the current holder of the UFC light heavyweight title, took the back of Cormier and got him on the ground during the session. While all in good humor and fun, Cormier did vow revenge.

“I’m an old guy now,” Cormier said (thanks to MMA Fighting for the quotes). “I find ways to win. One eye poke, kick balls. I’m going to get your a-- now.

“You better look.”

Alex Pereira Shows Off Improved Wrestling

A former Glory two-division champion, Pereira could become unstoppable with improved wrestling. The 36-year-old owns eight knockout wins to his credit already.

That includes back-to-back finishes inside the Octagon. He stopped Jiri Prochazka last November to claim the vacant belt. Last month, he did the same to former champion Jamahal Hill to defend his title.

Pereira also won the UFC middleweight championships in 2022 with a finish of Israel Adesanya.
